The Carpinteria Open was established in 2024 and has increased from 3 division to 5 in 2026.
The 3rd annual Carpinteria Open Golf Championship will take place on Saturday, July 25th at Soule Park in Ojai.
In 2026 we are opening the Tournament to 80 players!
Entry fee: $160
Includes: One Green Fee, Range Balls, Prize Fund and Tee Prize. Carts are included.
Also includes invitation to the Pairings / Tee Times Announcement at Rincon Brewery on Date TBD at 6 p.m. Includes a free beer and appetizers.
- Prize fund pays Gross in Championship Flight and Net in all other Flights.
- Deadline for Registration and Cancellation is Monday, July 6th, 2026.
To participate in the Carpinteria Open you must meet one of these requirements:
• Live in Carpinteria
• Grew up in Carpinteria
• Graduated from Carpinteria High School
• Have strong ties to Carpinteria (any player with only strong ties to Carpinteria will be approved on a player by player basis).
This is an individual tournament.
Championship Division: Gross
All players must have a 7.0 index or lower to participate. There are no age or gender requirements. This flight will be contested over 18 holes with all competitors competing at scratch. In the event of a tie for first place there will be a sudden death playoff. All other ties will be split.
Handicap Flights: Warrior and Rincon
All players must have a 6.0 or higher 12-month low H.I. to participate (16.0 maximum index applied). The flights will be arranged so we have 2 competitive flights depending on entries.
After registration ends we will divide the Warrior and Rincon Flight players into 2 even groups with the lower handicap half in the Warrior flight and the higher handicap half in the Rincon flight.
Senior Division:
Players must be 60+ to participate in the Senior Flight. The Senior Flight will play from the Combo Avocado-Lime Tees. The are no gender requirements. All players must have a 6.0 or higher 12-month low H.I. to participate (16.0 maximum index applied).
Women’s Division:
Open to all Women golfers. The Women’s Flight will play from the Lemon Tees. All indexes will apply with a maximum of 16.0.
Players will play at scratch if there is no GHIN # on the application. In the event of a tie for first place there will be a recommended U.S.G.A. score card playoff. All other ties will be split.
• Men will play from the Orange tees.
• Seniors (60+) will play from the Combo Avocado-Lime Tees
• Women will play from the Lemon tees.
In case of ties:
Warrior, Rincon and Senior Flights will use the USGA Tie Breaker using Matching Scorecards for 1st place. If the tying players have the same score for the last round or if the competition consisted of a single round, determine the winner based on the score for the last nine holes, last six holes, last three holes and finally the 18th hole.
If there is still a tie, then the last six holes, three holes and final hole of the first nine holes will be considered in turn. If the round is less than 18 holes, the number of holes used in matching scores may be adjusted.
Championship Flight will play a playoff hole in case of a tie for first place.
All other ties will split the prize money.
